Cropp, a founder member of the Irish raw milk cheese presidium, discussed colour, texture and flavours of 12 different raw milk cheeses made by members at her Belturbet farm in August. It was the final stage in a three-part cheese-fest that included a trip to Bra in September to give Silke a hand
promoting her cheeses. For the children there was a “smelly” workshop exploring such notorious food odours as onion and garlic with emphasis on how and why we smell food and kids also had the chance to show off their artistic skills by sketching the foods they like best. Slowfood Sugarloaf Club came into being on Monday 26th October 2009. Founding committee members are Evan Doyle, Ed Hick, Aisling Nic Craith, Biddy White Lennon and Jocelyn Doyle. The inaugaral meeting took place in Brooklodge. We are actively looking for new members.
