There’s a lot happening in March. Spring has sprung, the daffodils are everywhere thanks to the lovely mild weather we’ve been experiencing – a far cry from last year when we were snowed in! The Seasonal Food Chart for March has been added and this month’s recipe makes use of wild garlic which can be found in abundance in woodlands all around the country. There is no “bulb” like the garlic we are used to, for wild garlic use the stalk, leaves and flowers. Don’t pick it too close to the paths as that’s where the dogs like to roam….. Remember, when foraging for any wild plants – one for you, one for the animals and birds and one for nature!
Slow Food East Cork is also very busy with two events already planned for March – Grow Your Own Herbs on 7 March and a Pop Up Dinner on 9 March.
