Slow Food Mayo would like to invite you to a Garden and Apiary Tour in Belleek Castle, Ballina. Hosted by Belleek Castle’s head gardener, Alex Lavarde, he will be happy to answer all questions about modern gardening. After the tour, lunch will be hosted by head chef, David O’Donnell in the Barn. Belleek Castle Kitchen is well known for using local, seasonal ingredients from their garden, sea and air combining a depth of flavour with the traditions of the castle. Following lunch, there will be a foraging walk in the woods surrounding the castle grounds. Belleek Woods is a 1,000 acre woodland and is one of the largest urban forests in Europe.
